June is designated as National Indigenous History Month, a time to honour and acknowledge the rich history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples throughout Canada.

The Government of Canada's National Indigenous History Month educational portal serves as an invaluable resource to explore and gain a comprehensive understanding of these rich traditions and unique perspectives.

As part of Strategic Priority 1 – Goal 3, the Richmond Board of Education is committed to embedding Indigenous Peoples' history, perspectives, and learning approaches within district planning and practices. Join us in watching this video as we explore how a student-led initiative empowers our community, promotes inclusivity, and strengthens our commitment to embedding Indigenous perspectives in education.
