The Richmond School District would like to wish everyone a happy and prosperous Lunar New Year!

This special time of year is a celebration of family, community and tradition. It is a time for families to gather, exchange gifts and enjoy traditional foods. Highlights of this holiday include vibrant lion and dragon dances, as well as the giving of red envelopes filled with good wishes for health, wealth and happiness.

Lunar New Year also provides an opportunity to honour the many contributions of Asian communities — both past and present — that have played a vital role in shaping the rich cultural diversity we cherish today.
