On May 25, 2022, the Richmond Board of Education approved the operating budget for the 2022-2023 school year.

To balance the approximately $3.9 million shortfall, the board made a number of reductions and moved several items from the operating budget. In addition, the board is using approximately $1.9 million from reserves on a one-time basis to balance the budget.
