Every February, the Richmond School District celebrates Black History Month, honouring the many achievements of Black Canadians who have played a vital role in shaping Canada into the culturally diverse, compassionate and prosperous nation it is today.

This year’s theme, “30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations — From Nation Builders to Tomorrow’s Visionaries,” marks three decades of recognizing the legacy of Black Canadians. It invites us to reflect on the meaningful contributions of Black communities to Canadian society. This is also a time to deepen our understanding of Black culture and history, and reaffirm our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and respectful district for everyone.
