January 27 marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp and is observed as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. 

The day serves as a time to honour the memory of six million Jewish people, along with the millions of others who lost their lives during the Holocaust.
