It is with profound sadness that we have learned of the discovery of the bodies of 215 children at a former residential school in Kamloops, B.C.

This discovery is a tragic reminder of the history of racism and the atrocities committed against Indigenous people in Canada. As a school district, we stand against racism and recognize the need for a renewed commitment to truth and reconciliation across our nation.

Our thoughts are with the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation, and with all Indigenous communities during this painful time.
