Alice and her husband, Tony, have been residents of Richmond for more than three decades and have raised two children who graduated from public schools. Her involvement with the school district community dates back to 2001 when her son started kindergarten.
 
As a devoted volunteer, Alice has held various positions including BCCPAC Parent Information Resources Coordinator, Vice-Chair of the Richmond School District Parents' Association (RDPA) for two years, Chairperson of the William Cook School Parent Advisory Council (PAC) for five years, and Chairperson of the A.R. MacNeil Secondary School Parent Advisory Council (PAC) for four years. She was also a member of the School Planning Council and the Learning and the Brain Conference Planning Committee.
 
Alice is also an active community volunteer and has served as Chairperson of the Richmond Chinese Parents’ Association for four years and as a Cadet Officer for the Navy League of Canada Cadet Program (Ages 9–12) for a decade. Currently, Alice is a member of the board of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education BC Society and the Richmond S.U.C.C.E.S.S Chinese Senior Group. She also leads the Richmond Chinese Community Society Living Acting Senior Group.
 
Alice strongly believes that public education is crucial for student success, as today's students will become tomorrow's leaders. She is proud to have been elected a school trustee with the Richmond Board of Education for two terms: from 2014 to 2018, and now from 2022 to 2026. Her passion, integrity, knowledge, and understanding make her well-equipped to fulfill her duties. Alice is committed to ensuring that the voices of students, parents, and community stakeholders are heard before making any decision. She will work tirelessly to ensure that all schools have a safe, caring, healthy, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.
