How can we integrate student voices and perspectives in the creation of learning maps in French Immersion?
Why does it matter?
- Relatable to students
- More comprehensive
- Critical pedagogy
- Encourage reflection and discussion and open a dialogue on matters that primarily concern students
- Assessment should be a collaboration between students and teachers.
We found:
- Students were able to reflect on their results of their assignments
- Students were able to see their strengths and feel positive about their areas of success but also see areas where they should focus on improving or need help or review
- It has given teachers insight into what needs to be reviewed in class
