What have we been wondering about?

How can we integrate student voices and perspectives in the creation of learning maps in French Immersion?

Why does it matter?

  • Relatable to students
  • More comprehensive
  • Critical pedagogy
  • Encourage reflection and discussion and open a dialogue on matters that primarily concern students
  • Assessment should be a collaboration between students and teachers.

We found:

  • Students were able to reflect on their results of their assignments
  • Students were able to see their strengths and feel positive about their areas of success but also see areas where they should focus on improving or need help or review
  • It has given teachers insight into what needs to be reviewed in class
